SENIOR SEASON (2009-10) Kemezys, was named second team Atlantic-10 conference selection. She was among the top 10 in the conference in rebounding (third, 9.3rpg), offensive rebounding (fourth, 3.0orpg), field-goal percentage (sixth, .505) and scoring (ninth, 13.9ppg), and she was 46th in the nation in rebounding. She garnered A-10 Player of the Week plaudits for the second time in her career Dec. 21 after averaging 20 points and 11.5 rebounds in road games against Oakland and Western Michigan.
In the regular-season finale against Richmond, Kemezys broke Jamie Cavaness' school record for rebounds in a season and now has 269 caroms in her final campaign. She has eight double-doubles this season and has led the team in scoring 12 times and in rebounding 23 times. Kemezys has scored 20 or more points in five contests, including a career-high 26 points against Montana, and has collected 10 or more rebounds on 11 occasions, including a career-high 19 against Arkansas State.
On the Billiken career lists, Kemezys is third in rebounds (815), fourth in blocks (81), sixth in free throws made (275) and 11th in points (1,227). She also will finish among the top 10 in rebounding average (current career average 8.7), field-goal percentage (currently .503) and free-throw percentage (currently .733). An education major with a concentration in middle-school mathematics, Kemezys was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 7 women's basketball second team by the College Sports Information Directors of America in February and also an AcademicAll-American.
