Was drafted in the 2nd round, 15th overall, by the Minnesota Lynx.  Came off the bench in all 32 games averaging 5.2 
points and 3.3 rebounds in 13.6 minutes…Reached double figures on nine occasions and scored a season-high 14 
points at Houston on July 12…Registered her first career double-double vs. New York on June 1st scoring 11 points 
and a season-high 12 rebounds…Logged a season-high 25 minutes vs. Seattle on August 7…

USC Career:
Started all 30 games of her senior season and finished the year averaging 17.9 ppg and 8.4 rpg as the team's leading 
scorer and rebounder.  Senior Season was a State Farm Wade Trophy Preseason Candidate, Wooden Award Pre-
season all American, Street & Smith Pre-season Honorable Mention and Naismith Trophy Pre-season candidate.  Was 
named to the All Pac-10 team and All Tournament Team and was the Women of Troy Classic All Tournament MVP.
2nd in the Pac-10 in scoring, rebounding, and 3 point field goals made (2.3 per game), 5th in steals with 2.07 per 
game.  1st in the Pac-10 in offensive rebounds with 3.43/game, 8th in defensive rebounds averaging 5 per game. Led 
team to Pac-10 Conference Tournament Semifinals

2006 - 2007
Shay Murphy becomes the 20th Trojan to break the 1,000 career point barrier and ends up extending her double-digit 
scoring streak to 47 straight games. Named a Kodak/WBCA All-American Finalist for the second straight season, she 
goes on to be selected 15th overall in the WNBA Draft, signing with the Minnesota Lynx following the 2006-07 season.
Pac-10 player of the week, twice.
Finished her career 10th on the USC scoring list with 1,492 points behind USC Women's Basketball Greats Cheryl 
Miller, Lisa Leslie, Tina Thompson, and Ebony Hoffman.  Also holds 6th place for career steals with 234, 8th place in 
rebounds with 722, 9th in rebound average with 7.1 per game, shares 11th place for games played at USC with 119 
games.  Is first in USC records with made 3-point field goals connecting on 181 baskets from behind the arc and is 2nd 
in free throw shooting percentage at 78.8%.  Holds the 2nd and 3rd place single season record for made 3-point field 
goals with 69 and 67 in her senior and junior seasons, respectively.  Holds the USC 1st place single season record in 
free throw percentage tallying an 85.8% shooting accuracy her senior season.  Scored 30 or more points on 2 
occasions.  Led team in scoring and rebounds for her junior and senior seasons.  Led team in steals for sophomore, 
junior, and senior seasons.
